Spiritual Mothers

I could write about many spiritual mothers today because I have plenty at my church that I have confidence in.  They live what they preach and teach and that says alot for a spiritual leader.  But today, I would like to recognize one lady who has taught me many things spiritually since I was young.  Her name is Mary Alice Butler.  She is definitely one of the most godly ladies I know.  She was my Sunday school teacher for many years and loved me unconditionally like I was her own therefore I count her as my other mother.
On April 3, 2011 she encountered one of the most horrific experiences she has ever faced.  She was cooking right before church that Sunday morning and her housecoat sleeve caught fire.  Normally her son would have left the night before to stay with a friend and go to church but the hand of God was in this situation and new what she would face.  He stayed home that night only to wake up to his mother screaming and enflammed with fire all around her waistline.  They were able to put the fire out with a blanket and call 911.  After calling 911, this is where her mind was.  She picks up children every Sunday morning before church to bring them to Sunday school and she called the pastor's wife to have someone pick those children up because they needed to be in Sunday school.  Although in excruciating pain she was worried about someone else's soul.  She was rushed to Chapel Hill with severe burns over 33% of her body.  She is still living, God seen fit to keep her here.  On Mother's Day, she usually is the one her speaks to our ladies but she was not able to be there physically.  I knew her heart longed to be in the House of God to be apart of the service so with all the technology out there, we asked if she wanted to make a video and of course she did because her heart wanted to be with us.  Yesterday, we went to visit her and she was in such a higher spirit than she has been in a long time since the fire incident. We were able to bless her spirit with good singing off of You Tube by our friends Forever Redeemed, Bro. Jerry Causey and listening to the McGruders.  The spirit of the Lord came to her right there in the hospital room and blessed her.  It was good to be able to be apart of that.  She will be coming home soon here in the next week or so.
Through it all, she has praised God through this situation.  Give God the Glory in Everything!  I am going to upload the video from Mother's Day if anyone is interested in seeing what she has to say.
